This is my 2025 poster for the 1922 film ‘Häxan’, written and directed by Swedish filmmaker Ben Christensen, created for Hireillo’s new project 'The Video Shop: A Blockbuster Experience'. 

I chose this film from a list of very appealing options (think Nosferatu) because of its important role in introducing some very modern ideas about women’s health, challenging deeply-held ideas about witchcraft.  The artwork was drawn in pencil and inks on paper, and the print is the same size as the original art.
